About the Teacher

York Koo is a drummer, educator, and professional musician with over 10 years of teaching experience. He holds a BFA Honours degree in Jazz Performance from York University, where he studied under Canadian jazz drummers Barry Romberg and Anthony Michelli.

York performs as the drummer for Minavae and has worked with artists throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including Mark Yim, Gosan, Joe Tay, Silian Wong, Rika Vuong, and C Tse.

His lessons focus on developing strong fundamentals, technique, groove, and musicality, with personalized instruction for beginners through experienced drummers.
